Terms of service

The agreement between you and MyMakes when you use the app.

Last updated 29 October 2026 (draft)

What MyMakes is

MyMakes is a costing and stock app for small makers, run by [Your name or company name] ("we", "us"). By creating a login or using the app you agree to these terms. If you're using MyMakes for a business, you confirm you can agree on its behalf.

MyMakes is in a private beta until launch. During the beta it may change, pause or lose features at short notice, and we may invite or remove beta makers as we see fit. We'll tell you before the beta ends and what happens to your workshop then.

Your login and workshop

You need to be 18 or over. Keep your password and sign-in links to yourself; what's done with your login is your responsibility. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used it.

A workshop belongs to its owner. The owner can invite people, remove them, hand the workshop to someone else, change its plan and delete it. People in a workshop can see and change its records; choose them with care.

Your data

What you enter is yours. We don't claim any rights over it, and we only use it to run MyMakes for you, as described in the privacy notice. You can export everything at any time and delete it when you like.

You're responsible for what you enter and for having the right to enter it, including other people's names and details.

The figures are a help, not advice

MyMakes works out costs, prices, what you keep and profit from what you enter, using the rules described in the app. They are only as good as what's entered, and they are not accounting, tax or legal advice. Check anything that matters with your accountant or HMRC. Prices and fees at marketplaces change; keep yours up to date.

Plans and payment

MyMakes has a Free plan and paid plans (Maker and Pro). The features in each are shown on the Plan screen. Prices are shown there too, and will be [£x and £y a month, or £a and £b a year, including VAT] once payments are switched on. We'll give at least 30 days' notice by email before any price changes.

Paid plans are billed in advance, monthly or yearly, through Stripe. You can cancel at any time from the Plan screen; your plan stays on until the end of the period you've paid for, and then the workshop moves to Free. Nothing you've entered is deleted when a plan ends; features above the Free plan stop until you upgrade again. We don't refund part periods unless the law says otherwise.

During the beta, paid plans may be given free of charge; that can end at any time with notice.

Fair use

Please don't:

  • use MyMakes for anything unlawful, or to store anything you have no right to store;
  • try to get into other people's workshops, or to get round the app's limits or security;
  • overload the service, scrape it, or resell access to it;
  • use it to send spam, through invites or otherwise.

Availability and support

We aim to keep MyMakes available all the time, but we can't promise it: there will be maintenance, faults and things outside our control. Craft fair mode keeps working without signal and sends your sales when you're back online. If we're going to be down for a while on purpose, we'll say so in the app or by email.

Support is by email and through Send feedback in the app, during UK working hours, as quickly as we reasonably can.

Our responsibility to you

We'll provide MyMakes with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't let us limit.

Beyond that, we're not responsible for losses that weren't a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms, for loss of profit, business or goodwill, or for decisions you make based on the app's figures. Our total liability to you for everything arising under these terms in any 12 months is limited to what you paid us in that time (or £50 if you paid nothing).

If you're a consumer, nothing here affects your legal rights.

Ending things

You can stop using MyMakes and delete your workshop or login at any time from the app. We can suspend or close a login or workshop that breaks these terms, after telling you why and, unless it's serious, giving you a chance to put it right. If we ever close MyMakes altogether, we'll give at least 90 days' notice so you can export your data.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. For anything that matters we'll tell you by email at least 30 days before it takes effect; if you keep using MyMakes after that, the new terms apply. The current version is always at this page.

The legal bit

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction (if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can bring proceedings there too). If any part of these terms turns out not to be enforceable, the rest still applies. Questions: [contact email, e.g. hello@mymakes.co.uk].
